7 YEARS THAT LAYED THE FOUNDATIONS OF SURGICAL ADVANCEMENT IN KOSOVA AND THE REGION

We are pleased to present, through this video presentation, the journey, work, and achievements of the Kosova College of Surgeons, a fresh but extraordinary story of vision, dedication, and development of surgery in Kosova and the entire region.

In just 7 years since its establishment on December 17, 2018, the College has become the main center of surgical education, scientific research, and professional cooperation. Over a thousand surgeons from Kosova, Albania, North Macedonia, and the diaspora have united under this umbrella, creating the largest Albanian surgical community ever.

Our clinical congresses, with thousands of participants and hundreds of lecturers from around the world, have set a new standard in medical education in the region. Educational programs, courses, trainings, and symposiums have provided thousands of hours of quality education, building the capacities of new generations of surgeons.

The Kosova Journal of Surgery and the KCS Bulletin have become powerful platforms for science and our professional history, with dozens of publications, interviews, analyses, and scientific papers that place Kosova on the world map of academic surgery.

All of this has been achieved with our joint work, since the Kosova College of Surgeons was established under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi and the key support from the International Virtual e-Hospital Foundation (IVeH), a USA-based foundation that has been the main pillar for the establishment, building, and development of the College.

IVeH will continue to support the KCC towards new achievements, strengthening capacities, and further transformation of Kosovo surgery.

Looking to the future, the Kosova College of Surgeons, in cooperation with the University of Prishtina, is working towards the establishment of the Kosova Center for Research, Simulation and Advanced Training, a project that will create a modern infrastructure of international level for surgical and medical education.
